SYNOPSIS
In Her Steps is split into three five-minute acts; the first act the daughter is five years old and the mother is in her 40s, the second act the daughter is 16-18 and mother in her 50s, then the third act the daughter, now a mother herself, is in her 30s and her mother is in her 70s. These ages are prominent stages in our lives and we can show the raw relationship going through struggles, highs, lows, and how ultimately they come back together after everything. We are basing most of our story off of interviews we held with mothers and daughters; our friends, family, and our own mothers. We want this project to connect with audiences by including those intimate, meaningful memories we hold close. We feel these raw relationships aren’t shown enough on screen and yet everyone has a relationship like this in their life that impacts them greatly.

Quotes from our audience
"In Her Steps is a masterful exploration of family, life, and love. In twenty-five years of teaching film students, I have never before encountered a work that is so gentle, so eloquent and so profoundly moving.
